Everything Sucks.

This. Is. Nazi. Shit.

I really can't deal with the fact that we're committing human rights violations by separating children and parents at the border.  And I don't even *like* kids, so you know that if I think it's bad, it must be fucking horrible.

Unfortunately, there's....not much we can do about it.  Check out https://familiesbelong.org/, they organized protests last week and might be doing more activism. Give to the ACLU. Vote for people who want to #AbolishICE. Leave other things to do in the comments.

Oh and always this:

Fuck that little troll jeff sessions, too.

Spring Cleaning

Me, this weekend:

jokes on you: i didn't clean it last year, either.
Did I see Beauty and the Beast this week? MAYBE.

Yep. Had some houseguests visit this weekend, so I had to actually ~clean~ my apartment this weekend, beyond my usually monthly half-assed vacuuming and pushing dust around with a wet tissue. Oh, the humanity!

Election Update: The Aftermath

Well. What a shocking, painful end to the garbagefest that was this election. It feels like an actual nightmare.

True story. No judgement though kitty - my tummy hurts when I'm upset too.

Anyway, this is the last political post you're getting from me in awhile. I'm devastated by what happened, super concerned about the future of the country and the climate, and can't imagine finding any humor in it going forward. (I mean, not that you guys were living and dying by the half dozen or so political posts I put up this year...)

Don't worry, I have lots of material about the kitties, Boyfriend, our upcoming move to Canada.  (Kidding. Hack joke, I know. Also, it's actually hard to get citizenship there.)

F#*$%@ Fruit Flies

Last year, I had a fruit fly incident. I noticed a few of them buzzing around, but I did my best to ignore them and carry on with my business. then one day I came home from work to this:

Yes, a literal swarm of them. It was awful.

Since that traumatic experience, I've been a little intense about them.

I pretty much keep hefty in business over the summer.

(yes this is a banana and tomato free household now.)
Ok, maybe I'm a little too intense.

Solves the problem, though.

What do you guys do about these tiny evil flying demons?

The Woman's Curse

You probably think this is about the monthly curse of blood and pain that women experience for oh, 35 years or so. Nope. I'm talking about this woman's curse:

Yes. Baby and bridal showers. Thousands of dollars of gifts you're expected to shell out for a couple and/or a couple's baby, solely because you have a vagina. Hundreds of hours of watching someone open said gifts and pretending to give a shit. Dozens of stupid games you're expected to play.

The real woman's curse.

I Might Be Lactose Intolerant

So, sometimes after I have dinner with Boyfriend, I get all congested. We’ve entertained the possibility of a wine allergy or chocolate allergy, but we’ve determined it’s not that. Recently, I tested the possibility of having an issue with gluten, but that wasn’t it either.

About a week ago, Boyfriend had an idea.

Um, that's supposed to be a red mark, not blood.
I decided not to accept it.

And then this past weekend, we ordered pizza.

A few minutes later, something happened.

Soooo yeah. The signs are pointing to lactose tolerance. However, the signs also point to Gia continuing to eat cheese and other dairy products, because DON’T TELL ME HOW TO LIVE, DIGESTIVE SYSTEM.

Anyone else lactose intolerant?

I Didn't Have Air Conditioning and It Was Bullshit

As you may have seen if you follow me on twitter or facebook, I didn’t have air conditioning all last week (my building was installing new units). It was the worst thing.

On Monday:

Tuesday:

True story. Boyfriend told me I have my own weather system. I must be magical.
Wednesday:

I went to the movies with Boyfriend

Thursday:

I turned off the lights, sat in the dark, and gave up.

Friday:

So yeah, I survived. I’m probably like, the toughest person you know.
