My Free Time, in Charts

I have a problem, you guys. And that problem is a freaking adorable kitten who has taken over my life. The evidence:

Excuse me, but I think kitty is getting up from a nap. You know what that means.

Throwback Thursday: Vacation Preparation

ThrowbackThursday: Because I'm going on vacation for part of next week!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

So, I’m taking a quick mini vacation with my mom and sis (essentially Sun-Wed). It was kind of a last minute thing, and I am glad I am going. But, I had one day to get all my shit together for it.

Seriously fuck atms.

Anyhoo, yeah. Going away for a few days, so if I’m less active on the commenting and tweeting, that’s why. Don’t worry – I’ll be back soon!!

Big news you guys:

YAAAY!!!!! She's a 12 week old kitten who is absolutely adorable.

Things did not go smoothly when I first brought her home.

Luckily, hero Boyfriend made an appearance.

He got her to come out and say hi.

She was sad when she first came home :(
Later, she warmed up a bit and even cuddled with us.

I didn't want to startle her.
So there you have it! I'll try not to make this blog become totally cat focused, but no promises.

Throwback Thursday: Amish?

Throwback Thursday: Amish people can have cats, right?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Texting between Boyfriend and me:

Boyfriend: I just had an Amish soft pretzel. Best food ever.

Boyfriend: Those Amish soak everything in butter.

Me: I should be Amish.
Boyfriend: Good luck with that.
Me: Do Amish have hair straighteners?

Boyfriend: Yes.
Me:  I could totes be Amish then. Easy peasy.
Boyfriend: I know some people. I could get you in. butter heaven.
Me: I don’t do bonnets, btw.

Me: Do Amish eat cake?
Boyfriend: Yes.
Me: Perfect.

Seriously. What’s not to love about being amish? You get soft pretzels and cake and things in butter. And I heard they can use cell phones because those don’t have cords, so I can still get my internet. Where’s the bad?

I think I’m leaning towards becoming Amish, guys!

Welp, it was worth a list.

Operation Cat Update

So, this is a short post. I've been busy with some work stuff and father's day and the way more exciting news below.

YOU GUYS I COULD BE A CAT OWNER THIS WEEK. THIS. WEEK. I think I need to go prepare. And by that I mean, buy an excessive amount of cat toys. Cross your fingers for me!

Throwback Thursday: I Hope to Own a Cat

Since Operating Own a Cat is underway, I figured it'd be good to revisit this post. It's way old, as you can tell by the super bad drawings, instead of the regular bad drawings. Enjoy!

So, I’m sure it’s no surprise to you that I want a cat. My sister has two kitties, and I love them even when they’re total fucking bitches. However, I’m sure some of you are wondering why I don’t currently have one, especially because I work in a city that is filled with feral cats and honestly with a little tuna I think I could convince one to get in my car. Yeah, they’re all pretty whorey with their kitty STDs, but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve love.

No one teaches cats Stranger Danger.
Also, you some of you guys offered up your own cats to me on twitter, which is awesome. But also makes me wonder why you want to get rid of these little balls of fluff. Are they secretly criminal masterminds? No, right?

Anyway, for now I just read kitty blogs and keep hoping. Here  are some reasons why I don’t have a cat yet:

My Lease Says "No Pets"

I plan on moving out when my lease is up, so that might take care of that one.

I know I know, cats are cheap. Cheaper than dogs and babies for sure. But there are still some kitty expenses:
  • Monthly rent with pets can go up 30-50 bucks in this area
  • Kitty food
  • Kitty litter
  • Adorable kitty toys
  • Vet bills when kitty chooses to ignore kitty toys for household products

Anyhoo, money is tight, and a cat is a commitment. You cant just feed them ramen noodles, right?

Oh yeah, I may be slightly allergic to cats. I didn’t have one growing up, and a few years ago I got my sister cats for her birthday. Now after I hang out with them/force them to cuddle with me, my eyes itch a lot.  And I feel kinda crappy when I go home, but not sure if that is just kitty allergies or going home.

So yeah. No kitty for Gia yet.

But once I move out, somehow manage to make more money, and decide “fuck allergies,” I’m totally gonna steal me a kitty.

Letters for Kitty

Since I moved, Operation Get a Cat is in progress. Boyfriend hooked me up with contact info for a nearby cat rescue organization, so I need to email the woman in charge.

BRB gotta go send an email!
