Throwback Thursday: YAY SUPERBOWL!

Throwback Thursday: Here's hoping that the seahawks pull out another win! Behold, the magic of last year....

So if you’ve been listening to the blogcast, you know Boyfriend is from Seattle and is a biiiig Seahawks Fan.

And if you’ve been following American sports at all, you’ll know that the seahawks made it to the superbowl this year. Boyfriend got pretty stressed out during playoff games.

The Seahawks have never won the superbowl, though they got robbed a couple of years back. So you can imagine how Boyfriend was before/during the superbowl.

Anyway, 4 stressful hours later, it was all over. AND THE SEAHAWKS WON!!

[QUICK NOTE: So, I said stressful because I wrote this earlier in the day Sunday. But really, it wasn't that stressful. It was all kinds of awesome.]

(Yes, I prepared a version of this post for a possible loss. Glad I didn’t have to use it!)

Boyfriend’s Sad News

If you listen to the podcast, you’ll know Boyfriend’s dog has been struggling with cancer. After a very long and very happy life, his puppy passed away last week. :(

Boyfriend is handling it exceptionally well.

But I’m very sad for him.

In honor of her, here are a couple of facts about Puppy.

Puppy liked her walks with Boyfriend more than anything.

Puppy was great with people, but she did have a healthy hatred for ducks.

She probably knew they were mostly rapists.

Even when she was very sick, she always had a tail wag for Boyfriend when he came home.

And brought him a toy when he walked through the door.

At the end of the day, Boyfriend was her favorite person. And she was the world’s best dog.

As any pet owner knows, even a good long life of 13 years isn’t nearly long enough when it’s time to say goodbye.

Sigh. Here’s to Boyfriend’s best friend, fluffiest pet, and most loving dog.

Throwback Thursday: How to Prevent Freezing to Death

Throwback Thursday: Because we may be blizzardless to date, but it's still cold!

So last week, I was affected by the blizzard. The blizzard itself wasn’t too worrisome –

But it was accompanied by strong winds and freezing cold temperatures. And as we’ve discussed before, everything in my apartment is electric and I have no access to a

fireplace. An uncomfortable thought soon occurred.

What do you do if you lose power when it’s snowing heavily and only 7 degrees outside?? I freaked out a tiny bit. Boyfriend wasn’t super helpful.

I googled hypothermia.

I asked Boyfriend.

I came up with my own fantasy solution

And I took the only realistic precautions I could.

Luckily, I didn’t lose power and everything turned out fine.

Think of all I'd save on the heating bill.

Pirate Kitty

Sooooo...This will be a short post. One update, really:

Yep. I brought kitty back to the vet, where I spent another bajillion dollars on more tests to figure out why her eye thing is back. It's probably nothing (or it's something really bad). But most probably nothing serious at all. Probably just a touch of kitty herpes.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go stare at my cat.
