April Update

Hi all -

So uhhhh, everything got pretty fucked up since my last update, huh? I wish I've had more time to blog because this pandemic could lead to some Grade A content, but we've been busy moving in together/adjusting to working from home/having massive panic attacks.  Yep, it's been six or so weeks of this:

Luckily we're both rona-free to date, but we do live/work in a hotspot so we've being VERY careful.  I hope everyone else is healthy and safe, and if you're quarantining in one of the insane states that are re-opening too early, I hope you can safely avoid people. People are bad.

Happy Labor Day!

Yep, it's a bed-and-wine day for sure. Hope you all get to enjoy a day off! See ya next week.

Very busy.

Sorry, no real post today! I've been very busy this week doing uhhh, summer stuff - you know, fishing hiking swimming boating yoga etc etc.

Yep lots of self-improvement activities and definitely NOT sitting on my couch engaging in massive schadenfreude!

Happy MLK Day!

So I was going to share my traditional MLK post from the past couple of years but a joke minimizing the civil rights movement feels a little bit like bad taste in this very immediate news cycle of the president being a racist dumpster fire.

So I'll just say Happy Martin Luther King Jr day. Perhaps take a moment to ponder this uncomfortable fact:

This is done by a person called Robin Bell - follow on twitter here. And here's a slightly lighter one:

Ok, back next week to my usual antics (psst: spoiler alert: my next post is about cats.)

Ragnaroking and rolling

Movie recommendation time!

Go see the newest Thor. It was really good. (Much better than the second, which was pretty much entirely forgettable.) This was funny and had more of a guardians of the galaxy vibe. 10/10.

Anyway, short week, short post. Enjoy thanksgiving, if you celebrate!

Oh thank god we can say merry christmas again.

Did this happen to anyone else?

On OCTOBER 30th, this happened in my drug store. Seriously.

Tis the season?

(PSA: For my longtime readers, yes, those drawings above are a throwback. It's still SO TRUE.)

Anyway, since our first muslim president has finished his term, we can FINALLY say merry christmas again. Thank god.

I'm getting reeeeal tired of the fake war on christmas bullshit.

STOP MAKING CHRISTMAS A WEAPON. IT IS A GOOD AND PURE THING. STOP IT.

Yawn

YAWN. This is the fifth weekend in a row I've been out of town for something (vacation, multiple weddings, bachelorette party, etc.)

I'm now going to sleep for 36 hours. You'll get a much better post next week.

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day to my fellow Americans!  I'll be celebrating by holding my cat and pretending Trump isn't president. Hurray!

Happy Easter (and a winner)!

Recycled post, but so true still:

Also, I picked a winner from last week's book giveaway. (I used a random number generator to pick a commenter, for those who are wondering about my methods.)

Congrats....FISHDUCKY!!

Is this real life?

In case this is needed, let me note that I *know* there could be legit reasons for a senator to meet with the russian ambassador, and that in and of itself is not controversial. I know that. Multiple people meeting and lying to cover it up though.... smells fishy.

What's happening is the US right now is total and absolute bonkers, and Boyfriend and I are having a hard time pretending everything is ok, mainly because NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL AT ALL.

(And I'm not only talking about the russia stuff; that's just the most recent/current thing happening as of Saturday afternoon.)

This is going to be a rough four years indeterminate amount of time, especially for those who care about our most vulnerable populations. Gah.

Has anyone else felt chronically stressed since the election of the clown-child?

Hello Autumn, My Old Friend...

Well, this:

Seriously, cat cuddling is the only good thing about the cold.

For those in the US: Happy Fourth of July to you and your pets, who may or may not believe that fireworks signal the end of the world.

Yes, both those pictures are old. Sorry. New posts next week!

Happy Fourth!

So, I hung out by a pool this weekend. And I'm proud to announce that I DID, in fact, use sunscreen. However, it was a spray can and I applied it myself, so of course, there was blotchiness. And since I was out of town, I didn't really have time to do any drawings last night. Long story short, here:

In my defense, nothing.
Did you all have a good weekend?
