Sometimes a good, lazy weekend is amazing. I just noticed, though, how big is your couch? In your depiction of it, the thing has at least five cushions. I would never leave such a glorious sofa.
I had nephews for the weekend. And Hellbaby. We played Clue and laughed and laughed and laughed. And I made them their very favorite food in the world, teriyaki chicken, and even though I had never made it before, they ate a butt ton and pronounced it The Best Chicken Ever in the Whole World. So yeah, it was a good weekend.
My weekend was basically the same! I watched so many YouTube videos of teacup pigs, baby seals, puppies and Googled "cute baby animals." Apparently baby animals are what we all need right now.
I didn't get dressed until after 2:00 Sunday, but the good news is that I did shower first! I am impressed that you kept cleaning in the equation...dust bunnies are very patient!
I hate it when you wake up, eat breakfast, then jump on the internet for 10 or 15 minutes and the next thing you know the kids are kissing you goodnight. Time is so weird, unreliable and stupid. Also. I hope you included "Baby Monkey Riding on a Pig" while you were perusing YouTube because that right there is some pretty awesome cute animal material. :)
I'm right there with you. I kept looking around my house and thinking "I really need to clean the bathroom, vacuum the carpets, dust the knick knacks..." all from the comfort of my couch with a laptop on my knee. Needless to say, none of the chores got done.
This past weekend I was busy, but I LOVE when I can spend the whole day doing nothing! I feel a bit guilty and frustrated afterwards, I'll admit, but it is so hard to break out of the lethargy in the moment. I mean, cute animals are completely irresistible and if God didn't want us to spend our time watching them, he wouldn't have created YouTube or Animal Planet, right?
I don't have a TV anymore, which I say is because I can get a lot more done, and yet my weekends are similar to yours. Just replace "Animal Planet" with "Youtube clips".
how is your headache going? :( I hope it's better- headaches suck! As someone who suffers chronic headaches, and has since she was seven, I know how much those things suck! your drawings are as hilarious as ever!
That's pretty much how I spend my first day off (I'd say the first day of my weekend, but my weekend begins on Monday so it is really a "week beginning" but whatever). Then I always feel pretty terrible for the absolute absence of productivity... but that doesn't mean I actually DO anything the second day. But I feel bad.

ReplyDeleteYou just described my last 5 weekends. Bravo! x
ReplyDeleteThat "Too Cute" is EVIL. It truly is too friggin' cute.
ReplyDeleteBest. Saturday. Ever x
ReplyDeleteYour weekend wins. I got out of town on Saturday but the experience was less than enjoyable especially since there was no internet where I went.

ReplyDeleteSounds like my weekend, only with internet animals replaced by hockey and a West Wing marathon. And the most constructive thing I did was order pizza.
ReplyDeleteI usually have so much crap to do on the weekend I work myself into a non-productive tizzy and end up eating popcorn and watching Jersey Shore.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a good look.
Sounds pretty good!
