So, I’ve been asked a few times if I went shopping on black
Friday.
I hate malls. I hate parking lots. I hate lines. I signed up for amazon prime this year. So I
get free two day shipping on tons of stuff. BEST. THING. EVER.
It’s fantastic. I’ve done nearly all of my Christmas
shopping already. (It helps that I only shop for four people.) It makes me
jolly.
Seriously, how am I not sponsored by amazon?? |
However, there’s one problem. See, half the time the
delivery people will just leave the boxes in front of my door:
However, the other half of the time, they will decide they
need to leave them with the store underneath my apartment.
This is slightly uncomfortable. I mean, I’m online shopping to AVOID
interacting with people, remember?
Sigh.
How do you guys shop? Do you do it from your comfy couch
(okay, futon) like me, or do you actually go out to the stores?
I hate when they leave the packages outside my door...not that I don't trust my neighbors, but, I don't trust my shifty ass neighbors. I work by a cute little boutique strip mall, so this year I'll be buying creepy ass hand-made dolls for nephews and at the same time, way more stuff for me.
ReplyDeleteYes! Total agreement. Except I drop out the actual buying part, and avoid the delivery issues. Not that I live over a store.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for Amazon Prime, but I have yet to receive anything within two days. In fact, everything I've ordered through it has taken around five days, which is pretty much standard delivery. Damn our nationalised postal service!
ReplyDeleteHate malls. Hate people. Love shopping on line. Consider Black Friday one of Dante's Circles of Hell. Have never gone, never will go.
ReplyDeleteThe end.
amazon all the way. I get it delivered to work so my colleagues think i am a shopaholic - which i am but still
ReplyDeleteYes, this is the only way to shop. Love the modern age :)
ReplyDeleteI avoid malls like the Plague. I do about 95% of my gift shopping online, and the other 5% with forays into various big box stores, on weekday afternoons. I like the elbow room, ya know?
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried online shopping ever because I'm paranoid. Like, I'm worried that I pay money and the package doesn't get delivered to me. I don't like crowds either, so if I *need* to go shopping, I go in the morning, where there are fewer people. I HATE PEOPLE.
ReplyDeleteI refuse to go into malls AT ALL this time of year, and I really need socks this year, I forgot. But I. Am. Not. Going.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Amazon Prime is my bestie. Seriously.
After enough Amazon boxes come to your address, you will become best buds with the UPS guy. I kid you not. Then you will chat with him about where you want your packages left. My UPS guy and I starting a dialog after about the 1st year of Prime. Turns out he is my husband's cousin and he can install granite counter tops. I love my new counters.
ReplyDeleteI love amazon prime :) Being in the malls, or driving anywhere near them, this time of year makes me want to hit things. I spare people the potential threat and shop at home
ReplyDeleteOnline is the only way to shop.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
If it wasn't for online shopping, everyone that I needed to buy for would get cash. Or maybe wine since I go to the liquort store anyway...
ReplyDeleteI love the malls. Except for all the annoying people. And the parking thing. And all the unhelpful clerks.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I just need my own private department store.
If you like you could shop there too, just schedule a time so I don't have to see you.
I like going to the malls just to hear the Christmas music. But I do all my shopping online. This year, I'm doing all of my shopping through Etsy and Chapters. Done and done!
ReplyDeleteI'm part of the Amazon Prime conspiracy this year and it seems to be doing a good job of keeping me entertained, helping me avoid crowds and receive little blessings for others while draining my bank account. I'm looking forward to what they have in store for me next year.
ReplyDeleteI usually shop online but today I ventured out. Big mistake. I must have looked like a drug addict on the train, popping pain killers and looking like I was close to death from a mixture of frustration, barging through crowds and crying inside.
ReplyDeleteI like my laptop. It never treats me this way...
Call me a fool. I love malls and people :)))
ReplyDeleteI would answer your question but I am currently having a panic attack over the fact that I have not one Christmas present and I have no idea what I'm getting the 427 people i have to shop for.
ReplyDeleteI abhor both people AND shopping, so online is the way for me! Between me and the hubs, our house has been like boxapalooza the last 2 weeks. If I never have to go to another store, especially during the holidays, I would be a very happy camper.
ReplyDeleteI recently had to venture to the mall in person because of a last minute event I was invited to and needed an appropriate dress. Neither of the only two stores I ever actually shopped at were there anymore. Shows how much I love the mall. Yay for Amazon!
ReplyDeleteI partake in a bit of both. I love Black Friday so I go every year. Although, unusually end up buying more for me than anyone else. That may be a problem. As for amazon, love!
