It is the bomb diggity.
Do you know what I love about it? The freedom.
The freedom to take off my bra immediately after work and
sit braless for the rest of the evening without worrying about other people
around.
The freedom to keep peanut butter in my food cabinet without
worrying about others eating it.
(Seriously I used to have to hide my peanut butter.)
The freedom to keep the thermostat exactly how I want it.
Though, I need to make exceptions for visitors:
Though, I need to make exceptions for visitors:
The freedom to go into the kitchen in my underwear.
Really, this one is more for Boyfriend than me.
Ha! I'm glad you didn't illustrate it but going to the bathroom with the door open is strangely liberating, and thus, another joy of living alone.
ReplyDeleteLol! Another awesome post. You're on a roll these days. Must be all the freedom lol. Loved all of it but there was something particularly attractive about the pillow fort! Pretty uber cute!
ReplyDeleteThe blue face paint...hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, do you really own a dress/shirt that looks like the one you draw? I think if you did, you would be attacked by hugs every time you wore it.
ReplyDeleteYes, living alone is amazing, isn't it? I haven't worn pants in my own home in years. YEARS.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya. I love Husband, but when he goes out of town, I use no dishes whatsoever, eat the smelly foods he hates (what UP smoked salmon!), and wear horrible ancient sweatpants.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived alone, it's so peaceful in my house when everyone's gone for work/vacation trip.
ReplyDeleteBraless is the new pantsless. Or, you can be braless and boyfriend can be pantsless ;)
ReplyDeleteOwn appartments are the best, I want one too! (sorry husband and kids)
I want a pillow fort. NOW!
ReplyDeletei love that freedom, i live on my own.
ReplyDeletebut even during the days when i had roomates, i never bothered keeping the bra on :p
I am so glad you are enjoying your new found freedom. I love that I come home from work and if I have nowhere to be, I immediately change in to my pj's. FREEEEDOM!
ReplyDeleteNiiiiccceee!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it! Just reading that took me back to my very first apartment that was roomate free. It is still the most favorite place I lived before settling down with my husband.
ReplyDeleteMy roommates were both away last week so this was me for a few days. Unfortunately I was also watching my friend's aggressive, nippy, noisy maltese, so my feelings of freedom were tempered somewhat.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again on the new apartment. Living alone is one of life's treasures. I don't know if I can live with Boyfriend if that time comes. I'm REALLY into my own space.
ReplyDeleteI moved into my own place six years ago and it's been six wonderful years of freedom. I've contemplated getting a room mate to help with rent, but no way! Also, pillow forts are the best!
ReplyDeleteI was more of a sheet/blanket fort kind of kid. I want to build one now... but I don't think I have a skipping rope (a.k.a. my roof support system). Glad you're enjoying the freedom!!
ReplyDeleteI cherish the nights when Doc H is out of town and have the bed all to myself! No snoring, no pager, none of his flipping and flopping around to wake me up... it's heaven!
ReplyDeletePlease don't share this information with him.
Congrats again Gia! So much FREEEEDOM! I don't think I've ever lived alone...sigh. My first roommate was gone a LOT though so that might partly count. Now, Hubs' sleep schedule is all messed up due to stress and it can feel like I live alone when he comes to bed right before I wake up and doesn't get up till I wake him. But it's still not really real alone. And that does have its attractions.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you love your new place so much you could be a hermit in a pillow fort. People don't understand wanting to stay home - why don't you ever come out?? I like my house that much too but it's the kids making the forts these days...I just help a little. Why go anywhere when you can go to the fridge in your underwear?
ReplyDeletepillow forts rock!
ReplyDeleteand if I have taken my bra off....that's it...only gushing blood from one of my kids moves me from the house again that night!
Hilarious. I live alone (except for the Z Boys of Dogtown). Sometimes I spend the entire day in my jammies. It's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I'm still living with my offspring so I am beyond jealous. Of course, being as they are teenagers the fastest way to get rid of them is to pull of my bra when I walk in the house.
ReplyDeleteThis just strengthened my desire to live alone!!! :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't life so much better without roommates? Amen to the braless nights! hahahah
ReplyDeleteI'm supposed to move in with my boyfriend this weekend. After reading your post, I'm seriously rethinking the move.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I used to hide my Pop-Tarts from my roommates. Jerks....
I am so glad I chose to live alone, rather than with a roommate too!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I work from home. My son is out of school on Thursday. I'm totally freaking out. I DON'T WANT COMPANY!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I love him.
I love having the house to myself. So, I completely get this.
ReplyDeleteFunny post!
Oh very funny! I hated having roommates! I've had to adjust my standards with a husband and kids, but seriously, it's just not right to find an empty peanut butter jar in the pantry!
ReplyDeleteI loved having my own place. That freedom is well worth it and ever so precious.
ReplyDeleteAdorable as ever. I always love your posts and am still wondering when you're gonna get your own Network TV special. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteTelecommute!
ReplyDeleteYes!!! Someone else who loves peanut butter over nutella! I've been having a blogging war with a friend of mine for weeks over this!
