The Snow Adventure

If you read Monday’s post, you know Boyfriend and I ran into some weather trouble this weekend. Let’s talk about that.

We went down to seaside house on Friday. We knew the weather for Sunday was sketchy, so we checked the forecast.

Honestly, I kind of thought Boyfriend was being a little overly cautious, but I didn’t mind.

So we headed out around 11 am, where a couple of adorable flurries were falling.

But conditions quickly deteriorated.

*one hour later *

Four hours+ after we got on the road, Boyfriend took a random exit to get to a fast food joint so we could use the bathroom and get some food.  And then I saw it.

So that’s how Boyfriend and I spent the night getting drunk in a hotel instead of sitting in a massive snowy traffic jam for 6 more hours.

  1. 3/4 a bottle of wine is enough to get tipsy between two people? I may need to back off of booze to let my tolerance break down. But yeah, driving in the snow is one of the scariest things. I can't imagine driving in the snow in the dark.

  2. A hotel is usually better than traffic. I'm glad you're safe.

  3. Willy Dunne Wooters might or might not do that for me. I'm glad I don't have to test him on it.

  4. So glad you guys did that! Getting stuck like that in snow and traffic is a nightmare.

But don't you think you should have dressed warmer in your car when driving in a snow storm??? You guys have your summer tshirts on!

  5. Oh my, I would have done the same. It doesn't snow where I live. Ever. I'm pretty sure I would have had a panic attack at the first flake.

  6. Homeland and wine in bed sounds like a pretty damn good time to me, especially if the alternative is driving in a blizzard. Also, I love how boyfriend's just kinda holding the steering wheel in midair.

  7. Never come to Canada. The roads and snow are starting to scare me. I am actually uncomfortable with driving in these weather conditions right now.

Also it was minus 40 degrees Celsius last Friday. Enough said.

  8. Now that sounded like a good plan! Better to get drunk in a hotal room than sit in a snowstorm!
