I liked it. I think Fast Zombies are scarier, and there IS a precedent. The zombies in 28 Days Later are fast and crazy like that. With standard zombies, you can escape with nothing more than a slow trot.
Haven't seen it. Do you actually talk during the movie or do you pause it and chat and then get back to it? Willy Dunne Wooters and I have to pause our show to talk because we can't hear a damn thing. Getting old is wonderful and hellacious.
I read the book and the only thing similar was the title. The book was great but the movie was just ok. It really needed more gore and more scenes from the book. I'm sure there might be a sequel.
I'm with Janie - Hubs and I find ourselves pausing whatever we're watching when we have to talk about it. Otherwise we'll miss something and you know it will be an important something!
As for the movie, I enjoyed it. I didn't read the book so I wasn't mentally comparing them while watching and I'm not much into the gore so I didn't miss that. It kept me on the edge of my seat though and that's something I look for in a good film (or book for that matter).
Hahaha so cute! I hate zombies. HATE them. So no, I haven't seen this movie, but that's more because I never see any movies than because of my fear/loathing of zombies. Yes.
I missed parts of it while giving my son a bath, but I'm a wimp anyway. So I Googled it, read the plot summary and knew how it was going to end by the time my son was dried and dressed. That way the freaky-fast zombies didn't scare me as much.

ReplyDeleteAwwww Spoilers! I somehow don't think knowing any of these things would diminish my enjoyment of the movie.
ReplyDeleteFast zombies? Not fair!
ReplyDeleteHaving read the book I can tell you that it definitely shares some similarities with the movie. Like... the title! (No really, that's it)
ReplyDeleteThe movie wasn't bad, but Brad Pitt the badass kung fu fighting sniper shooting... stay at home dad? Really?
I think it's a great zombie movie. Just wish it didn't have that name. It was nothing like the book at all, which was disappointing.

ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I saw it, but remember almost nothing about it (I tend to block out things that traumatize me so maybe it really scared me too, Boyfriend.)

I never saw the movie, but now I feel like I don't need to because I know basically what happens. HA HA! Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI have not seen that but fast zombies would definitely be too much!
ReplyDeleteI had the same Twelfth (thirteenth?!?) Doctor fanboy squee. AND I WAS ON A PLANE WATCHING THE SCENE WITH THE ZOMBIE ON A PLANE.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen the movie! :) But this was great!

ReplyDeleteZombies on a plane sounds terrifying. I'm much too wimpy. But thanks for your recap. I can sound intelligible if someone brings up the movie.
ReplyDeleteI was disappointed in the movie. I must say though, you captured my reactions pretty spot-on. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm not up to date on zombie metaphysics.
