My (Not So) Secret Addiction

To what, you ask?

Sigh. I kind of don’t want to tell you guys. But I will. Because honesty is my policy.

PLEASE DON’T JUDGE ME.

But seriously guys. Friday nights with Boyfriend have pretty much turned into this:

Is there a support group for people like me? I need help.

  1. I am in need of support, as well. I never get tired of looking at that stuff! I even have a couple of emails with lots of cute puppy and kitty pictures with captions that I sent to my work email, so on days when I'm stressed, I can scroll through them and become magically happy. I have to keep it on a minimized screen, though, so my coworkers walking by won't see what I'm doing. It's cute baby animal porn.

  2. I'm not a "frou frou" Suzy Sunshine person at all, but yup, most of those pictures melt my heart. I don't intentionally seek them out, but if they're sent to me or someone posts something, I'm all over it. Ironically, I'll check them out while shooing my own hairball cat away because she's annoying me. Whatever.

  3. I have a penchant for kitties wearing hats!

  4. Is that an addiction so much or just a human condition? Who doesn't like puppies and kittens? Not to feed your addiction, but you have seen cuteroulette.com, right?

  8. I have the same addiction. We should form a support group. Fortunately, my husband supports my addiction, so no problems on the marital front...

  9. Yes, Gia! There IS a group for you! They meet at: www.pinterest.com.

Oh wait, that might be the wrong group. Oh just click it anyway and report back.

  10. Drink more wine??? I find I can only focus on one addiction at a time, so I'd try to up the wine consumption and see if that decreases your you tube watching.

  11. I am thinking this is less an addiction and more an avocation. Let's call it a wonderful avocation. Addiction might imply it is wrong in some way. NOOOO who wouldn't want to see cute kitties and puppies?

  12. Ha! I just watched two cute puppy videos in a row, and I felt like such a sap for doing it.

Happy to hear I'm not alone. Let me know when you find that support group, Gia, maybe you can be my sponsor:)

  20. This is great. Reminds me of a commercial with a girl complaining about her older parents not being so active on Facebook (because they've obviously hit the meaning of life by purchasing the fancy car that makes them popular and social) and she's sitting there by herself on her computer watching animal videos. Priceless!

  21. I'm addicted to Tumblr. Like even when I'm at work, I think about it. I sometimes dream about it. When I don't go on Tumblr for a day, I feel so left behind.

I think I need help too.

  22. Haha! For us it's the other way around...My boyfriend is constantly sending me pictures of funny animals that he finds on Reddit.

  23. It's not really a support group that I have to suggest. It's more of a place where your can feed your addiction. It's called the Internet and I don't think it will ever run out of your drug of choice.

  24. Reddit is just the place for you. Don't look to quit! Look, instead, to find people that would embrace your addictions, and help you feed them.

  25. Can I join you? My husband even started sending me links!

  26. I have the same problem. Especially on Pinterest! I have a whole pinboard called "oh so cute" just for cute animal pics lil. Hubby thinks I'm nuts!
