Small Talk Ideas

Another busy weekend, so he's a still-relevant one from last year. Enjoy!
-----------------

As I've mentioned before, I think Trump is a dumpster fire clown fascist and things in this country are going very badly.

However, like lots of families, some of my relatives disagree. Some are trump supporters, some think hillary literally killed vince foster and some just like to start shit. Others are very conservative catholics who think abortion is the only policy issue that matters.

I had to attend a birthday party with them all this weekend, which is always a struggle. Because this:

Points for not bringing up Trump, right??

Throwback Monday Blowfish Kitty

Hi all -
Had a crazy busy weekend and no time for a new post this week. Here's an oldie I still enjoy! Have a great week! ~Gia
--------------------------------------

I'm trying to make Boyfriend's dog and kitty become friends. Unfortunately, every meeting has gone something like this:

It's not pretty. Clearly, hanging out with a dog is beneath her.

Yep, same ol same ol here.

Yawn

You guys....I'm tired. I'm also in the middle of car shopping, so I've spent the past 15 hours in front of my computer doing research. And I miiiight be getting sick. Sigh.

Anyway, sorry, no energy to do a new post today. However, in the spirit of the total laziness I feel, here's a throwback from a couple years ago. Enjoy!

I'm sure you've all heard of fitbit, apple health app, and countless other health tracker/wearable devices. Well, for those with an active lifestyle, that's great. But what about the rest of us?

May I introduce to you...the BLOBBIT!

Keep up your sedentary lifestyle with this "anti fitbit" tracker that makes sure you're not doing too much!

Just like with fitbit, use the device to track your personal activity goals

Right? Stop #netflixshaming.

The Blobbit HRM model tracks your heart rate to make sure you keep things nice and slow.

Yep, hard to accidentally do any cardio with the Blobbit! In fact, it even tracks your standing time.

And if you actually try to work out, Blobbit is appropriately motivating.

Man, I'm never gonna be able to do a pull up.
The Blobbit is only available online, of course. (This market doesn't go to stores very often.) Get yours today!

Throwback: Reality Cat

Hiya - I had kind of a crazy weekend, so I didn't get a chance to make a new post.

Here's one from a few years ago that's worth a second read. Enjoy!

Remember how we re-imaged wife swap with cats a few weeks ago? Here are some more brilliant ideas:

CATVIVOR:
survivor with cats

I haven't watched this show in years, but I imagine it would be more interesting with cats

AMERICAN IDOL: KITTY EDITION
american idol with cats

Yes, kitty "sings" for cheese. She's no Kelly Clarkson, but haven't they run out of talent by now?

KEEPING UP WITH THE CATDASHIANS (thanks to pickleope for the idea!)
keeping up with the kardashians cats
I know, I shoulda made it "Katdashians"
Pretty much cats being catty about cat things. Imposssible to tell the differece between this and the original.

THE AMAZING RACE...WITH CATS!
amazing race with cats

I'll be honest. I have literally never seen an episode of this show. I'm not even convinced it's a real show, even though it keeps winning the emmy for reality programming, right? I have no idea what channel/what season/what time its on. Do they even show it in america? I've barely seen a preview for it.

Anyway, my point is, I'm sure there's some running in it. Kitty would excel at that show, especially if I could use a laser pointer.

And finally...

LITTLE KITTENS BIG GIRL

Boyfriend came up with this one. He's an asshole, but it made me laugh, so there you have it. It would be me with kitties all day every day. #Dreamjob

Leave suggestions for other catified reality tv shows in the comments! I'm already planning my "cat moms" post...

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Yep, another throwback. Merry Christmas, everyone!

A Visit from St. Nicholas (with art by Mayor Gia)
By Clement Clarke Moore

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

That is a lie.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of midday to objects below,
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer,
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donder and Blixen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack.

His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

Now he's just bragging.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! And if you need more Mayor Gia Christmas, check out the oldie but goodie Nativity Story !

Throwback Thursday: Santa and the Naughty Elf, Revisited

Remember Santa and the Naughty Elf from a few years ago? I thought it'd be fun to check in and see how they're doing this year.

It's not that Gia Elf isn't happy for Santa Boyfriend, it's just that Santa Boyfriend needs to be a little more sensitive to the fact that not everyone skips a meal and loses 6 pounds.

Gia Elf is sure the cookies are unrelated to the weight loss. They're magical Christmas cookies.

She'll be a fun addition to the sleigh this year!

So Santa Boyfriend and Gia Elf tackled present delivery as a couples activity, and they both loved it.

And they had the best Christmas ever.

All the presents got delivered. And then Santa took a nap for 45 days.

Merry Christmas!
