Mosquit-NO

As most of you know, I get destroyed by mosquitos in the summer.

(This background is important for the next part of the story.)

I was sitting in a work meeting, having a conversation about an outdoor event that will take place at dusk in June. My coworker dropped this comment:

In that moment, my world changed.

Did you all know about this too?? HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME??!?

Anyway, I told Boyfriend too, so this happened the next time I went over his house:

The more bracelets, the better. In fact, I'm going to load up and report back this summer. I'm feeling pretty invincible.

  1. Nobody told you about them because they work about as well as clicking your heels and wishing real hard. Maybe they work better if you wear multiple bracelets like in your last picture, just stack them up like you're Johnny Depp in his Sunday best (dude wears a lot of accessories). But for me they work about as well as wearing a citronella candle on my head (which is to say, not at all). Good luck to you.
(Also, on an unrelated note, didn't you send me a Twitter message saying how you were going to make a post aggrandizing all the great things Boyfriend does? Does this count as that?)

    1. Ahahaha I *DID* send you that, thank you. And promptly forgot.

DOES THIS NOT COUNT THOUGH? HE BOUGHT ME A PRESENT!

  2. I've never worn the mosquito bracelets, but I've worn the clip-on thingie. It works great so long as you remain seated and don't move. But as soon as you walk, it dissipates the protective little veil of anti-mosquito haze that the device gives off and they zone in for the blood-sucking kill. Screw those bracelets, Gia! Just spray yourself all over with Deep Woods Off before you go to that event and be done with it. Tell everyone it's the scent of a new French perfume.

  5. I'm unaware of the mosquito bracelet. Tell me if it works, please. I can't walk out on the deck with the dogs for five minutes without getting bitten.

    Love,
    Janie

  6. I don't get bitten by mosquitos. Ever.

It's been decades since I've been bitten even though I basically live in a tropical swamp.

I will sell you my blood for relatively cheap.

  7. I have never heard of them. I do have a bug shirt, though. Living in the North woods we have plenty of mosquitoes and other biting insects. In spring the breeder mosquitoes are so big they usually land at the local airport. I slather myself in industrial strength bug repellent until my skin starts to peel.
