Play this as you read (and sing along!)
Look at these toys
Aren't they neat?
Wouldn't you think my collections complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the cat
The cat who has everything?
Look at this trove
Treasures untold
How many toys can one apartment hold?
Looking around here you think
Sure, she's got everything
I've got mice and springs a plenty
I've got toys on strings galore
You want laser pointers?
I got twenty!
But who cares?
No big deal
I want mooooreeeeee.
I wanna stalk, wanna stalk em slowly
Hopping around on that, what do you call it?
Oh, roof.
Scratching at glass you don't get too far
Freedom is required for killing, eating
Stalking around in that - whats that word again?
Grass.
Up where they fly
Out where they hop
Out where they stay all day in the sun
Wandering free
Wish I could be
Outside killing biiirrrrddssss
What would I give if I could live
Outside this apartment
What would pay to spend a day
Hunting in grass
Betcha outside they don't try
To reprimand their kitties
Bright young kitties
Sick of seeing
Really to killlllll
Ready to kill all the birds I see
Chase em around and get some exercise
What's a bluebird?
and why do they - whats the word - chirrrppp?
When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love?
Love to stalk and kill birds in the sun?
Wandering free
Wish I could be
Outside killing biirrddsss
Yep, just a song about Kitty's desire to murder a bird. Happy Monday!
This really gets to the fact that cats are not domesticated, instead they merely tolerate domesticity. Also, I hate you a little bit for song slapping me with this and now I have to go along with my day like I don't have a Disney song rattling around in my brain.
ReplyDeleteGreat, now I'm humming this, too.
ReplyDeleteI use this need for murdering to my advantage. Both of my cats are now trained spider killers, and I can't remember the last time I was bitten by one.
I LOVED THIS. I absolutely sang that whole post (nearly) at the top of my lungs. April got so annoyed with me she left the room. But that was super fun--well done!! April is a bird killer too :(
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm going back to sing it again.
Better the second time.
DeleteBelieve me, I knew exactly what this song was set to without any help from the link!
ReplyDeleteIs that sad to admit?
An inspired lyric poem! I am deeply moved.
ReplyDeleteFortunately I am not familiar enough with the Disney song that there is any chance of it getting stuck in my head.
