Getting Up Early on the Weekend Should Be Illegal

I had to get up early this weekend for a work thing. REALLY early.

My alarm went off  at 5:20. AM.

Sorry, everyone. Being tired makes me cranky.

Anyway Boyfriend had slept over the night before and got to wake up with me.

I got up and showered, and by the time I was done Boyfriend was up and getting ready to go.

fuck him.

So yeah.  The work event was fun, but I really hate getting up early on the weekend.

  1. I feel your pain. A dishwasher repairman called before 9 AM on a Sunday and I felt a murderous rage. I know it's not 5 AM early, but common decency is to never call someone on the weekend before 11 AM.

  2. I could not agree more! 5 am is early for even a weekday. It's like you are telling ourself most of the week that you'll get to sleep proper on Sunday but guess what that doesn't happen. Where did the alarm come from anyway!?

  3. What's the big deal? The alarm goes off. You get up. I didn't read anything about going for a swim, or a run, or a bike ride, or some other workout in there, so yeah, you slept in.

  4. I had to get up early for our book signing this weekend, and the only thing I remember thinking as I dragged myself out of bed at 6 AM was, "I should still be sleeping now." Interestingly enough, as 11:00 rolled around and I started feeling a little tired, I also thought, "I should still be sleeping now."

  5. I feel your pain. I am also not a morning person. I always take my shower at night, because if I took it in the morning, I'd drown.

  6. "I don't want this. This is no good at all." Loved that line, Gia.

  7. You are funnuer than "Kathy." Is that comic still around? Havn't seen a newspaper in years. Anyway "Kathy" was one of my favorites (no I am not gay, why do you ask?) Your cartoons have replaced her.

  8. I am not a morning person. I sleep until 11 almost every day. Don't tell anyone I said that.

  9. I think I read somewhere that mornings are a farming thing. So if you want to blame someone blame farmers.

  10. I have to set about twenty alarms in the morning so I can wake up and realise I don't need to get up yet, and then go back to sleep at least twenty times. I suck at getting up early. Especially on weekends, so I definitely feel your pain.

  11. I had a job once where I had to get up at 5am every day. I literally cried some mornings. I'm not a late sleeper, usually, but no one wants to get up early on the weekend! I have a friend that mows her lawn on Saturdays at 8am. Seriously. I yell at her about it all the time...I just think that's so cruel to her neighbors!

  12. The only thing worse than getting up early on a weekend because you think it's a weekday and you start getting ready but then you realize it's Saturday and you can go back to bed but now you can't fall asleep because you are already awake, is having to actually go to work.

    I'm so sorry.

    Hugs!

  13. At least you get cranky when tired. I get delusional, fall asleep in the car and say really weird things. ._.

  14. People shouldn't take to me before 10 on a weekend, or any day really. Why would your work function be so early! I'm protesting for you.

  15. I hate mornings too... and people who talk to me in the morning x

  16. Yep, I agree. Whenever I have to travel for work, my flight always leaves at like 6:00 in the morning. The plane. Leaves. At 6:00. That means I have to be at the airport by 4:30, and I have to get up at 4:00. And so does my husband, because he has to take me. It's not a fun day for anyone.
