New Year's Resolutions, 2016

Yep, it's that time of year, to reflect on how I still can't do a pull up and make new resolutions that will probably last at least a week or so. This year's resolution?

So,  I've come to realize that I've slowly been drinking more and more lately.

So it's time to cut back, sigh.

So I'm gonna stop drinking during the work week (again). Weekends are still drinking time though.

Anyone else cutting back  on the booze this winter?

Inventions that Need to be Invented: Wine Glass

Remember when I invented onion goggles but it turns out they were already invented and I still don’t have a pair and that’s really sad? Well, I’ve come up with a  new invention!

It would work like this:

Self refilling popcorn bowl next.
So…is this available on amazon prime  yet?!?!

Hungover

So, besides the awfulness I wrote about on Monday and Finn from Glee dying, I had a pretty good weekend. Some friends from college came over and we drank a lot.

So I'm still pretty hungover as I'm trying to work on this post.

I'm not - nevermind. Anyway, this isn't a real post. This is me explaining why you're not getting a real post today.

Yawn.

That's not really related to the hangover...

Okay then! Better posts coming soon, I promise. Forgive me?

And Then I Made a Mess.

So Boyfriend and I were in his seaside house last weekend. It was a low-key night. We were just hanging out in the living room, and this happened:

It made a mess, y’all. It looked like a scene from Dexter. There was glass all over, and red wine splattered on the leather couch (ok) and freshly painted white walls (not okay).

Boyfriend was good though. He cleaned it all up and even repainted the part of the wall the next morning.

But back to that night.  After I killed the wine glass, we decided to go upstairs to the bedroom. I was helping Boyfriend make the bed…

Putting the bottom sheet on the mattress is SO HARD.
Technically, this time it was a big elbow gesture.
And then my elbow knocked into my glass of water.

I grabbed my  iphone immediately, so that was fine. The rest wasn’t too big of a deal.

Yes, he got my water. Boyfriend = best.
The evening was not going my way.

And then Boyfriend threw a blanket on me.

Hangover Blues

Remember how I made fun of my cat last week for being hungover? Welp. I should have known better, because this was maybe my Sunday:

They're sunglasses, okay?!

My sister and a couple of friends came over on Saturday night and we drank and went out. We stayed out really late.

After a respectable six hours of sleep, I woke up not feeling great.

I spent a large part of the day flopping around my bed

March Madness, you guys.

Ok, I was pretty much directly quoting from an episode of Girls at this point.

I seem to have come down with a case of whinyitis. Does this happen to anyone else when you drink (you know, the monster hangover and/or the complaining)?

Tis the Season for Saving

First, a quick note. A few people asked me if I was being sponsored or if I received any compensation from Five Below because of this post.  The answer?

While I totally would sell out if anyone wanted to sponsor me because I am…how do you say it?

Right.  While I would totally accept sponsorships/review things if it was relevant to the blog or my life, I would/will always let you guys know if I’m receiving any kind of compensation for a post. So that post, my amazon love one, and all my sutter home  shoutouts? All me baby. All sad, broke me.

But again, I totally would do a review of something in exchange for goods and/or money.

Anyway, this segues nicely into today’s topic: I am broke. Sigh.  Looking at my bank account makes me sad.

But I realized something: we’re finally over the holiday season! Not counting Valentine’s day, but I already bought Boyfriend his gift and we don’t make a huge deal about Valentine’s day because it is a made up holiday.

Anyway, my point is that from August to January, I have to deal with all of my family (and Boyfriend’s) birthdays, AND Christmas. But from about now until Mother’s day, I’m free! I have no celebrations or major purchases coming up.  I’m making February through May the season of savings!

I’ve cut down on booze again (for now), so that expense has plummeted. I’m in relatively good shape with my furniture.

I'll take it.
And I have resolved to cut down my online shopping! Starting February 1st!

DAMNIT, SELF! STOP SPENDING MONEY!

Yes, self. We can still buy food.  But with coupons! Because…

It’s going to be a long winter/spring, methinks. Do you guys have any good money-saving tips?
