World War Z

Boyfriend and I watched World War Z this weekend. It’s a Brad Pitt action movie about a zombie apocalypse.

I like it when I know things.

Have you guys seen it? What did you think?

The Snow Adventure

If you read Monday’s post, you know Boyfriend and I ran into some weather trouble this weekend. Let’s talk about that.

We went down to seaside house on Friday. We knew the weather for Sunday was sketchy, so we checked the forecast.

Honestly, I kind of thought Boyfriend was being a little overly cautious, but I didn’t mind.

So we headed out around 11 am, where a couple of adorable flurries were falling.

But conditions quickly deteriorated.

*one hour later *

Four hours+ after we got on the road, Boyfriend took a random exit to get to a fast food joint so we could use the bathroom and get some food.  And then I saw it.

So that’s how Boyfriend and I spent the night getting drunk in a hotel instead of sitting in a massive snowy traffic jam for 6 more hours.

Blizzard! (Ok, temporary blizzard like conditions is more accurate)

So I spent the weekend with Boyfriend, and I swear I had intentions of making a longer post on Sunday. But then this freakish blizzard hit the northeast and we got stuck in hours and hours of bullshit traffic. We passed by at least a dozen cars that went off the road and some that just got stuck ON the road, which was scary for a worrier like me.

Also I didn't feel good and couldn't take sitting in the car anymore.  And much to his displeasure, he agreed to get a hotel room for us because he is the best Boyfriend in the world. Here's a drawing of our experience:

Have you guys ever gotten stranded anywhere?

Falalala Time to Buy Presents

Well, I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

Now that’s over, and it’s already December. Time to go shopping!

Anyway, I actually have a couple of decent gift ideas for Boyfriend, which is rare, if you recall:

I’m actually slightly impressed with myself.

But now I’m super worried Boyfriend will also think of these good ideas and buy them for himself before Christmas.

I enjoy being indignant.
Anyhoo, only 23 more days til Christmas! How’s your shopping going?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I've decided that I really can't outdo last year's Thanksgiving post, so I'm reposting it here again today. Enjoy!
______________________________________________________________________

It’s not exactly a Bible story, but I'm retelling the story of the First Thanksgiving.

In 16somethingsomething, a bunch of Pilgrims came to America.

Yay, religious tolerance! How nice!

They brought supplies with them to get through the first winter in America.

They were in trouble.  But then the pilgrims met the natives.

The pilgrims didn’t really understand the native people or their ways.

The pilgrims were also kind of jerks.

Things started to look pretty bleak for the pilgrims. Until...

The native americans shared their harvest, and the pilgrims survived.

And they were super grateful. For a solid five minutes.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
