The Giant Zucchini

Farmer Boyfriend has a small vegetable garden in his backyard. 

oh hush.

Anyway, he brought me a present this weekend. 

Seriously, I should have taken a good photo of it. It was about the size of my cat. Probably 8 pounds. No joke. 

So I googled recipes on Saturday to figure out what to do with it. 

I decided on a zucchini egg bake. You shred the zucchini in a food processor, fry it a little on the stovetop, and bake with eggs and cheese. 

So on Sunday morning, I began my work. 

But do you know how long it takes to shred and fry that much zucchini? I had to do it in batches. Many, many batches. 

(I should note that the kitchen is the hottest room in my apartment in the summer, even without turning both the stovetop and oven on.) I don't want to say I was "hysterical" by the fourth batch, but things weren't looking great. 

Finally, after many hours of cooking and sweating and washing dishes, the zucchini bake was done. 

You guys can probably see this coming, can't you?

Yep. Goddamnit, that's what I get for trying. 

A Week, in Review

Some updates to my life:

So yeah, I have to deal with that. 

But then it was my birthday! 

And in addition to last week's tablet, Boyfriend got me the most prettiest necklace in the whole world

Purrrfect.

AND some adult coloring books and coloring pencils.  Look:

Ok, I know I'm no good at coloring, BUT it's super fun. And I may or may not have given myself carpal tunnel. Happy birthday to meeee!

New Tablet!

Boyfriend surprised me this weekend, and gave me an early birthday present.

As I may have noted, my old tablet has been on the fritz lately - half of my shortcuts no longer work and it periodically just craps out.

So it's the perfect time for a new tablet. Hooray!

Oh well, bad drawings are kind of my thing, you know?

I’m Back and New Year’s Resolutions

Sorry for the unexplained absence. (You know, if you noticed. Which you probably didn't. In which case, nevermind.) As part of my Christmas gift, Boyfriend got me professional help for my insanely slow laptop.

Anyway, it took a few days longer than expected. But now it’s back and runs faster.

It’s really pretty good now. It runs like a normal 4 year old computer, and doesn’t take 5 minutes to open an app. Victory!

Other topic: Okay everyone, it’s 2015. You know what that means!

I feel like my lady gaga outfit (minus the duck hat) also makes a good New Years outfit.

What’s my resolution, you ask? Well, to keep up the theme of the past few years:

Birthday Unicorn!

So, I just had a birthday. And among other nice things Boyfriend gave me, I got something I always wanted: a unicorn!

...and that's how Boyfriend offended my cat on my birthday. She's still harboring some strong feelings, but I've forgiven him. You know, because of the presents. 

Wonderfalls

This year, I had a really good idea for Boyfriend’s Christmas gift. You see a few months ago, this happened:

So I did what I do best.

I ordered it online and sat whilst it was delivered to me.

I was a little worried Boyfriend would get impatient and order it himself on a whim, which is why a few weeks ago I told him not to buy anything for himself:

I figured I was safe, right?

Fast forward to gift exchange time:

Yep, we both got each other Wonderfalls.

Returning things is a weakness of mine. Along with time zones.

So,  that’s how Boyfriend ruined my gift for him by getting me the same thing but alls well that ends well because I didn’t have to return mine. (I can't be the only one with an aversion to returns, right? RIGHT?!) 

 Does anyone else remember Wonderfalls? We just started, but I like it so far.
