Power Hungry

Yep, I lost power for the better part of the weekend, thanks to some strong storms on Thursday. But I'm back baby! Back and cackling like an evil movie villain. BWAH HA HA THE POWER IS MIIIIIIIINE!

Best Night Ever

As I mentioned awhile ago, I lost power for a few days last month.

After the plows came and cleared the roads, I went to Boyfriend's for a night to stay warm.

I made the tough decision to leave Kitty, on account of this happening in the car:

and this happening when she sees Boyfriend's dog:

And yes, I still felt VERY guilty about leaving her.

Anyway, the power came back on and I returned home. And that night, the most magical thing happened.

Yes, my little furry monster - after weeks of rejecting the bed in favor of a closet shelf - joined me for MAJOR cuddling and purring all night long.

It was like she squeezed a month worth of cuddles into one night

It was bliss.

Some people were not as impressed as I was about this development.

Uh huh. Sure.

Anyway, #BestNightEver.

Stormy...weather

No, this is not about the porn star payoff scandal plaguing the clownstick in the oval office.

Here, let me tell you about last week in verse:

There once was a girl named Gia
Who lived in an apartment with her Kitty
A storm came real bad
It made them real sad
And the electricity decided to quitty.

Yep I lost power. It sucked. What about Boyfriend, you ask?

Gia's Boyfriend lived a few miles away
And his power stayed on - hooray!
But the snow there fell worse
And it made Boyfriend curse
And now he wants to move far away.

Hope my fellow east coasters fared alright!

Losing Electricity is my Vietnam

As some of you might remember, I had to go about a week without power after the hurricane last year. It was horrible:

He being Boyfriend, of course. It was dark.
It was cold.

I lost the will to live.
So I came home from work last Thursday, and my street had no power. I had lost power for a moment or two during some thunderstorms, but my neighbors said the power had been out for awhile this time.

Seriously, what is this fuckery.
So I sat down on my futon.

I texted my friends and family and posted on facebook via my iphone.

I thought about all the food that was going bad in my fridge.

I reflected on my life.

I checked my phone.

I kept waiting.

And then, when all hope was lost, the lights came back on!

So yeah. I only lost power for an hour. But it FELT like a really long time and totes gave me hurricane flashbacks. What am I going to do in the fall when the hurricanes come back?!?!
