Packing and Boxes and Moving, Oh My!

I’m moving next week! Do you know what that means?

Yes, yay. It means something else, too.

Yep, it’s packing time. I decided to start small.

Boyfriend had some good advice.

I’ve concluded that packing triggers some kind of black magic, where you pack boxes and boxes and there’s always still stuff left and it crushes your spirit.

Wish me luck.

  2. Ha ha, this cracked me up, because it is so true! I've moved a ton and I can never quite understand how a small room can translate into 100 boxes.

But it will all be worth it when you get a cat!! I'm so excited for you about that :) Since I am over my cat quota, I can only live vicariously through other people getting new kitties, because I can't have not one more.

  4. When you move, do you take getting free boxes very seriously, like you're some sort of box mercenary? I do. "Okay, there's this supermarket who puts their unbroken down dry goods boxes out on Tuesdays at 3:00. I'll wait there if you go to the big box hardware store next Thursday afternoon after they're done stocking the shelves. 1-2-3 MOVING!" Just some insight into my moving process. After moving six times in less than a decade, I've never paid for moving boxes. It's a weird thing to have pride about, but for some inexplicable reason, I just sat up a little bit straighter and puffed my chest out.

  5. Packing is literally my mortal enemy. The next time I move, I'm burning everything.

    Hugs!

  6. You could start giving stuff away or selling it.

    Less packing for you!

  7. Packing is actually the worst.

Just keep your future cat ownership at the forefront of your mind! You can persevere!

Also: Myself and my roommates all work at Pizza Hut, so when we moved into this apartment, most of our stuff was in old Pizza Hut boxes that say "pepperoni" and stuff. Kind of weird, but we had plenty of boxes.

  8. I'm going to enter that weird realm and admit that I'm A-ok with moving and packing. I have a fool-proof system and it's never failed me in all my moves. I'm pretty much an expert at this point.

  9. I can really relate to you, Gia. It’s really hard to move from one apartment to another. Sometimes, you don’t know what to do, but you should always think positive. You know that you can always seek for help when the going get's tough, right? In any way, I hope that everything fell into place and that you are settling in nicely. All the best!

  10. Packing is the most stressful part of moving. There are lots of things you have to consider, like which things you still need to bring and which ones are you willing to let go already. Good thing you can always ask for help in that regard, be it from your family, friends or moving services. Thanks for sharing such a cute expression of your thoughts, Gia! Take care!
